ABOUT US
After more than 30 years working in restaurants like Morton’s The Steakhouse and California Pizza Kitchen, Chef Luis Vera and his wife Lupita dreamed of creating a place that felt like home; a warm, welcoming spot where neighbors could gather for fresh, flavorful food served with genuine care.
That dream came true in Waxhaw, where Vera’s Kitchen first opened its doors. The response from the community was so heartfelt that the Veras later opened a second location in Monroe, bringing their signature hospitality and home-cooked flavor to even more guests.
At Vera’s Kitchen, you’ll find a menu inspired by both Latin and Southern favorites, from hearty omelets and birria tacos to classic burgers and comforting sides. Every dish is made with care and served with a smile, because to us, every guest is part of our extended family.
You won’t find fancy frills here—just good food, good service, and good people. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or a relaxed weekend dinner, we hope you leave feeling full, happy, and right at home.
